A recent report by NCC shows that more people are subscribing to Glo network and this may be due to the relatively cheaper data plan being offered. This new move by MTN looks like damage control as the network has been losing subscribers to the rival Glo network in recent times.
In a text message sent to subscribers recently, you can now purchase 1.3GB data bundle for just ₦1,000 and 3.75GB for only ₦2,000. To subscribe:
- SMS 106 to 131 for 1.3GB data bundle at ₦1,000 for 30 days
- SMS 110 to 131 for 3.75GB data bundle at ₦2,000 for 30 days.
The plan might be tuned off anytime.
Right now, it’s unclear if this is another promo that won’t last long or a permanent data plan. MTN is known to regularly axe such great plans and this might even be gone before we know it. However, we suspect this is a move by the telecom giant to stay ahead of the competition.
